The new barn has been built

I'm not sure we can call this a barn, but it is certainly stretching the boundaries of what can be called a coop!  The new structure will house up to 8 breeding pens, protecting them from rain and sun while still keeping the ventilation I love about open air pens.  The hens will still get free range time.  Putting a solid roof over their heads makes my life much simpler.  Cleaning, watering, and feeding is faster when everything stays dry and protected from rain, snow, and sun.  All of the breeders will be here, and kept isolated from any grow outs we might have.  This is really important for biosecurity.

Now, only a few more steps to get power, water, and predator proofing...and the chickens can be moved to their new home!

Hard to believe how fast they can put this up!  It was a LOT bigger in reality than I had imagined when ordering it.  My favorite part?  It matches our house!
